Add a second Merchant district, and fill up both your mines as quickly as possible.
#RISE OF NATIONS RISE OF LEGENDS CUOTL PATCH#
Opening build is a Merchant district and a mine at a nearby Timonium patch (this strategy works best on maps with plentiful resources concentrated in a few large deposits).
#RISE OF NATIONS RISE OF LEGENDS CUOTL FREE#
This opening takes advantage of the power of Alin heroes and the ability to get free units quickly. This strategy is especially effective against a Vinci player who is slow on the military draw, but as Vinci towers are formidable, if you see one.try going elsewhere with your army. Don't go after your opponent's city right away-that may be too tough a nut to crack-but if you cripple his economy he may have little choice but to resign. Don't forget to continue creating troops at each circle and sending them directly into the fray-gaining Army Dominance is crucial with this strategy.Īfter getting a Merchant district, you might be able to afford a second Military district, adding two more soldiers to the battle. With 7 soldiers and a Heartseeker, if you've located your opponent's major mining operation, you have a good chance of wiping it out, using Summon Army to help as soon as that becomes available. You can build Heartseekers at the Circle and still have enough resources for a second Sand Circle. This gives you 6 soldiers in less than a minute. As soon as Evocation is done, build a Sand Circle. Spend your first Research point on Evocation, and build a Military district as your first build. The Alin have a great capacity for a true rush, especially on any map where each side has any extra soldiers. They are merely ones that have been shown to work and that will give you a good feel for baseline strategy. Note that these may not be optimal, especially not vs all enemy races and in all game types and map types.

Instead, I'll try to give an overview of some of the more popular opening strategies for each race. The campaign includes 52 scenarios with 15 heroes, while the Quick Battle and Multiplayer components include 42 maps for players to fight on.In an article this brief there just isn't space to detail all the possibilities nor to point out the differences inherent in the various maps. The player’s final test of skill is to go head to head on Gamespy or LAN to explore the radically different strategies of the slow but god-like Cuotl, the fast but glass-like Alin, or the innovative but even-keel Vinci. Rise of Legends also sports a Quick Battle (QB) component so players can jump right in to the action by selecting a map and one of the three unique races.

Through the Conquer the World (CTW) campaign players strategically guide a tightly knit group of heroes across the continent pursing monsters, love interests, power, and vengeance. At the furthest reaches of the continent, hidden in the deepest jungles, lie the stone stepped pyramids of the brutal religious zealots known as the Cuotl. The sequel differs from its predecessor in that it takes place in a steampunk universe spanning autumn-dotted hills in the lands of the Vinci to blinding sandstorms in the burning deserts of the magical Alin. In addition to these improvements Big Huge Games introduced several new features including dominances, neutral units, and capturable resources. Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends maintains the hallmarks of the first RTS in the franchise (attrition, non-depletable resources, national borders) while improving on gameplay mechanics such as city building and large scale battles.
